Sorry about this chaps (or chap-ettes, however the case may be), but it seems that well...I may as well tell the entire anecdote.

I flick through my flist, and see the challenge. 'Ooh!' I think, 'A challenge that I may actually complete!'

I open wordpad, and start typing. And before I know it - I'm finished!

So. I don't know how many words there are (probably not much...), and it doesn't have a title, and it's actually quite crap...but still.

I’m not really surprised that I didn’t work it out on my own.. I mean, come on, she was acting mostly normal. She came to work, she talked - well, groaned - with us, there wasn't anything in her behavior to point it out.

They're calling it some sort of disease, like there's something wrong in their heads. I don't know about that, but you should hear some of the other theories. According to some people, it's a choice, and other people think it's something to do with their upbringing. I can see the headlines:

Newest Epidemic Caused By Bad Parenting - Nations Aghast

Feh. I just can't believe she had to be one of them. I mean, hey, couldn't she just choose us? Choose to be normal? It's just all so confusing...why would she do this to us? Is she trying to hurt us? Did we do something wrong?

And why didn't she tell me? She betrayed me - my trust in her, my love for her, everything. I had to be told by someone else. Someone who knew nothing about her.

"I'm sorry," they said, "but there's nothing we can do."

I blacked out after that, but I remember a few things. The way they said it so clinically. As if it wasn't their fault. As if she had no choice in the matter.

As if she wasn't a dirty freak.

They said 'don't be angry' and 'she's perfectly normal'

I think I hurt them. Badly.

It hurts, and I don't think it will ever stop hurting.

I can't believe it hurts so much.

My life, the tragedy. But if I think about it, her life is now so much worse.

The teasing, the bullying, the pain that she'll have to endure.

It's almost too much to think about.

At least now she doesn't care about anything.

No one can hurt her now.

After all, who can hurt the dead?
